Blower Door Testing Prior to Drywall

A blower door test is a crucial step before drywall installation in a new home construction. This test is performed to identify and quantify air leakage in the building envelope. It involves fitting a powerful fan into an exterior door frame to depressurize the house, which helps to reveal air leaks that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Conducting the blower door test before drywall installation allows any identified air leaks to be sealed, ensuring the building envelope is airtight.

It also provides an opportunity to address any vapor barrier issues before they are covered up by drywall. This proactive approach prevents potential problems that could arise later, saving time and money on repairs.

Superior Structure - Floor Systems

Our floors are engineered to exceed standard building codes with a 40/15 loading capacity.

If vibrations reach 75% or higher, we adjust joist spacing or add extra supports under the island to ensure a sturdy, bounce-free floor.

Stairwells

Our stairwells are framed with LVL beams whenever possible, avoiding joist-to- joist connections that can lead to increased floor squeaks. Using LVL beams for hanger connections is advantageous because the nails sink directly into the strong LVL material, providing a more secure and quieter structure. This attention to detail ensures your home’s floors and stairwells are not only durable but also free from annoying squeaks and vibrations, providing you with lasting comfort and peace of mind.

Scoping Sewer - Floor Systems

Third Party Inspections by Progressive Home Warranty

San Rufo Homes has partnered with Progressive Home Warranty to complete additional inspection(s) during construction to provide an extra set of eyes on our homes. This provides an unbiased and expert assessment of the construction quality, with an aim to identify deficiencies or areas of improvement, at various stages. This helps resolve any potential issues early on, preventing frustrations and costly rework or repairs later on.
